Equipment

  • 1 Icehouse Stash
  • 5x7 board
  • 1 3-sided die (or a 6-sided die, in a pinch)
  • 2 players

Objective

Get 12 pips worth of pyramids into your goal.

Setup

Place a tree (as opposed to a nest) of pyramids in each of the five squares of the center rank of the 5x7 board (a chessboard with the extra squares covered will work fine, or better yet a Chessboard Bandana folded to show 5x7). See the figure below for the initial setup. Each player sits on one of the goal ends of the board.

Gameplay

On your turn you may:
  • Roll the die and move a pyramid a number of spaces equal to the die roll toward your goal
Or
  • Move a pyramid one space laterally

(if you don't have a 3-sided die, use half of the value of the 6-sided die, rounded up). A player can move a piece anywhere on the board. Moving a piece off the board edge into a goal captures the piece and it can no longer be moved back toward the opposing goal. The only restriction on movement is that if pyramids are in a stack, the uppermost pyramid must be moved. When two or more pyramids occupy the same space they should always be stacked so that the smaller pyramids are on top of the larger.

Winning

Victory is achieved when one player captures 12 pips worth of pyramids.
