Some comments on the current odds and how I'd imagine the flow of play running (with other questions)

You can arm a piece to fire 2/6 [tip, wild] of the time.

So on a 3/6 [hop, dig, wild] you can fire a pyramid away and disarm someone Else's (I assume it changes the orientation of the target piece, rather than only being able to target upright pieces).

And it seems based on this setup that players will probably have a lot of mis-fires as it's more likely to shoot a piece away than to set one up to shoot. Perhaps dig can be used to aim one of your own pieces, or hop can be used to attack with an upright piece... I don't know... I'd have to play a few rounds first to see if there's a need.

--- Some other questions:

  • Does size matter?
  • Regarding swap: does it actually do anything? Can you orient the pieces differently? Do they keep their same orientation or take the orientation of the piece they're replacing.
  • If size does not matter, then aren't Hop and Dig the same?
  • Who can you target? Just your neighbors or can you target across the table? (this may be important if it's hard to clearly point a piece at one player rather than another, say for shifting seats)

Sort of...

They keep their same orientation. But, I may have to think about it.

  • If size does not matter, then aren't Hop and Dig the same?

That's a fair question. I changed dig and hop slightly

  • Who can you target? Just your neighbors or can you target across the table? (this may be important if it's hard to clearly point a piece at one player rather than another, say for shifting seats)

Any player can be targeted...
I don't mean to pick, the game seems like a very interesting premise... I just think it needs clarification and tweaking.
Nah, you're not picking. These are fair questions. It made me think about some concepts. Thanks.

I'm having some problems interpreting the rules.

  • Does "your own piece" mean a piece of any color in front of you, or a piece of your color anywhere, or only a piece of your color in front of you?
  • Does "one of your opponents' pieces" mean a piece in front of an opponent, or a piece of an opponent's color in front of you?
  • When you Tip and you have no upright pieces, do you just aim any piece and set the rest upright? Or do you have to pass? I'm confused about the "and/or"---should it just be "and"?
  • When you Swap, can you swap any two pieces, or do they have to be in front of the same player? If you swap between players, does the piece that does not change direction continue to point at the same player, or does it keep the same absolute pointing direction? What if it's pointing at the player who it's in front of?
  • In the case of a tie, where do the extra pieces come from? Elsewhere on the table, or only from out of play? Do you have to use your own color, or any color?

I really enjoyed playing this game, but I think it could do with some more positive feedback. With 5 players its easy to stop anyone winning pretty much indefinitely. Maybe there should be some moves which remove pyramids from the game, ensuring that it will end eventually.
