Hi, David.

What's the current status of this project? Haven't heard anything in a while. Let me know if/how I can be helpful.

Work and other side projects have had to take the forefront. I'll get to it soon, rest assured. As I already have a format and about six or seven games typeset, it should go quickly when I can pick it up again.

Sorry for the delay;

No apologies necessary! Do you play over at SDG? Aaron had mentioned the possibility of playtesting Penguin Soccer there. . .

Now that we're between IGDCs, what's the timeline on this project? --Nycavri 20:02, 15 October 2007 (EDT)
Frankly, I am awaiting the resumption of Rabbit Points or something along those lines. It's one thing to copy & paste a quick PDF (like during the IGDC); it's quite another to revise 20-odd games to a common diction, artwork, and layout standard, complete with front and back matter and glossary. I would like some kind of compensation for the work, in particular as it will be print-ready, should the Looneys ever decide to stock it or make it available POD. I do this stuff professionally, and I'd rather work on my own games (refer to GLASScutters.org) and paid projects than volunteer, at this point.
All that said, I might find some time after this month (work is slammed) to diddle around with it and get a rough first draft out, for which others could (say) do the artwork and terminology consistency work (the Glossary is already there, as a guideline). But I really need to think of my own needs for a spell, which includes a small mountain of projects that are half-complete and which have a chance at being fruitful. In particular, I need to finish GLASS before next convention season, and that's going to be something around 500 hours of writing and revising.
If you are really jonesing for it, I could send you the Word DOC file that I have begun, and you could begin to add-in the games (properly formatted using Styles!) and then hand it back to me to revise for editorial consistency. Then, we find someone who can bang out the artwork and save it as decent quality GIFs (150 dpi should be fine, unless we want to go to 600 dpi for "professional" printing). Then, I can do the final typesetting of artwork (tricky, in Word, at times), make the PDF, and deliver a final book. Basically, it's the grunt work of setting the initial rules content into the Styles, then going through it all use consistent terms and eliminate redundancies already covered in the Glossary, that's putting me off starting it back up.
As a final note, I am thinking of making it STRICTLY "pocket pyramids," which is to say that any game that needs equipment other than one TH set and the chessboard bandanna will be cut. The idea is for, literally, a booklet, bandanna, and tube fitting in a pocket; not a booklet, tube, coasters, bandanna, six dice, 10 poker chips, a deck of cards, etc (gotta have some BIG pockets for some of these games!). :^) What this amounts to is that a handful of the currently unpublished games will not be included: all the coasters games--though that would be a GREAT new book for the Looneys to release, to help MC sales (certainly more worthwhile than the 3HOUSE booklet, which was only 33% useful to anyone with an Internet connection)--and all the games needing a deck of cards. --David Artman 11:21, 16 October 2007 (EDT)

Great - thanks for the update! I totally understand it being on your backburner at present. No promises, but I may have time to start putting the text together - my wife is in rehearsals 6 nights a week until 11 pm, so this might be the perfect time . . .

I assume you have my email address from the Icehouse lists. --Nycavri 13:49, 16 October 2007 (EDT)

Question: Did this ever see resolution? Just curious. I know it's been a long time...--GameBrain42 10:07, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
