This looks to be a good list to cut off the main page. One question though, what was your reasoning for cutting out Ice Arena? Was that cut by mistake? It has detailed rules, a victory condition, and even rule clarifications. It may or may not be a polished game, but shouldn't it be included on the main list? It just doesn't seem to fall under the same condition of the other games on this list, and there are those on the main list that are worse for ware. Did anyone try it out and find it too broken? '

Perhaps this was chopped with the other games by Grendel, which were blank?

Ice Arena had almost the exact same text as another of his "games" and has stuff like this: "I probably want to add a limited resource thing here. Or maybe not. Here's a filler setup." There's also a lot like "Fires up to 10 hexes away," but no mention of a map to use.

I seriously doubt that this is in any way remotely close to a functional game. I'd say it's just brainstorming. The "miscellaneous clarifications" could maybe be called "brainstorming chapter two."

I'm assuming that the game could be played on any hex board of reasonable size. Yes, there are some notes as to things that could be improved, but the designer put a lot of work into the rules about the different turn phases and the, actions, and combat. It's not something that I'll ever test out, but, in looking at it and doing some calculations in my head, I'm not sure if its a dead or broken game wholesale. If it only mostly works, it may still be of value to players and/or other designers.

I can't vouch for it, but this game, and perhaps his Robot House game, seem to be real games, and thus shouldn't be discounted just because the author could have done a better job at writing the rules? I'm not sure. Maybe a third person could jump in here and make some determination. I really don't have a clue about it, but I'd hate to see a game taken down that someone might find useful and/or fun (several games have already disappeared because of websites going down or because of neglect).

The user who wrote this stuff never intended it to be seen. He brainstormed these ideas in his profile, using pages on the wiki much like I use Notepad++. I have no idea why he didn't just use a word program on his computer. Regardless, David Artman came along years later, made them public for some reason I can't fathom, and they got added to the games list.

None of the things he has on this site are actual games. He never claimed they were. It is the fault of another user that they were ever incorrectly categorized that way.

If you believe everything written in anyone's scratchpad of ideas has value and should be on the site, I can go ahead and add another 50+ "games" to this list. I'm sure a lot of folk who design games can add much more than that. Instead, I'd prefer to leave them where they belong - in text files on my computer.
