Talk:Munch

I tweaked the rules slightly due to an issue that came up in a recent game. It turns out Munch was only working because we weren't playing it well (which seems to happen with a number of pyramid games). The changes I made (scoring values and conditions under which monsters can be unleashed) seem to fix the problem and make the game function as it was always intended to.

Played a couple of games of Munch this evening, and everything seemed to work. But I'd like clarification on two points regarding monster movement. Can monsters jump over intervening planets and monsters? (We played that they could.) And can monsters use less than their full pip-count of squares in a move? (We played that they could.) On reflection, I think that the latter was maybe not the correct reading of the rules.

I see what you mean when you write about how difficult it is to formulate an effective strategy for this game, despite the entire lack of random elements. --Carthoris 01:46, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

Monsters can jump over planets and monsters. I'll update this in the rules. Monsters can not move a number of spaces less than their pip count.
