Setup

• Tie each piece of string in a loop.
• The oldest player arranges the colored loops of string such that each loop overlaps with at least two other loops.
  

The areas inside the looped pieces of string make up the internal playing area.
The exterior play area surrounds all of the pieces of string.
The corners of an area occur wherever two cords cross.

• To begin, place one small mouse of each color in four valid corners that have no knots.

• At the same time, all players pick five random mice from the bag and take one white medium mousetrap. The players must keep their pyramids hidden behind the screens. (Note: These instructions are for a first game, in which players will not be familiar with the functions of the colors yet. In future games, players may choose the colors and sizes from their mice.)

• Finally, place all the other pyramids into the opaque bag. Players will draw from this bag to replenish their pyramid supplies.

Game Play

The oldest player takes a mouse from behind his screen and places it legally. In clockwise order, the rest of the players do the same.

• A player's turn consists of taking a pyramid from behind his screen (a mouse, a trap, or a cat) and putting it into play. Then, if he chooses, the player may predict a color. Finally, the player draws a pyramid from the bag to replace the one he just put out.
