Cyan pyramids were first introduced in 2003, contained in the boxed set of IceTowers. Due to their lighter shade of blue than the original blue pyramids produced beginning in 1999, the cyan color makes it more convenient for players to include purple pyramids in games, as it is easier to visually distinguish between cyan and purple at lower light levels compared with the darker blue vs purple. This may be why the new Equipment/Color die released with Pyramid Arcade includes cyan rather than the dark blue color that was featured on the original Color die. Both Cyan and Blue were included in Pyramide Arcade.
