Icebox
An Icebox is any container principally used for storing or transporting Icehouse pieces. It bears a striking resemblance to a generic gaming kit.
Types of Iceboxes[edit | edit source]
Not everyone keeps their Icehouse pieces in the container they came in. Some people carry their pieces around in a hemp bag like the ones sold by Looney Labs. Others have bought small plastic storage containers and tossed in their stashes along with other goodies like a Chessboard bandana or a deck of Tarot cards as part of the larger Icehouse game system. Still others have constructed their own personalized boxes or carrying cases.
What's in your Icebox?[edit | edit source]
- Icehouse inventor Andy Looney uses a box from a Maglite flashlight as a Binary Homeworlds carrying case.
- Joe Peterson has constructed his own Icebox with a built-in Volcano board.
- Jeremiah Wittevrongel's Icebox is a store-bought plastic container with a locking lid. It contains lots of other stuff in addition to Icehouse pieces, and has a cool Icehouse sticker on the lid.
- Jeff Zeitlin has a custom-made Icebox with a gameboard. The gameboard takes printed masks beneath it so that the board can be marked in a customized fashion for specific games. More info at this LiveJournal entry.
