User names[edit source]

I don't know how you'd do it, but I'd keep the Designer names in InfoBoxes pointing to the User Pages, not to new pages. I, forr one, am not going to maintain a Topic Page in addition to my User Page. David Artman 17:02, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do. Mneme 17:06, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

I think we just go with the status quo here -- a user reference in the property and if someone wants a page of things they designed, they just use, say (not that I have any designs up here):

As long as your InfoBox tweaking, why not add a field for Number of TH Sets AND Number of IH Stashes, so that "What Can I Play?" can be done automatically down the road? That wil make it easier to do the "Stashes' thing, as folks won't have to use any words in those fields, just numbers (unlike a LOT of the newer games, which specify "Treehouse Set" to disambiguate from "Icehouse stashes"). Actually, while I was trying to avoid mucking with the infobox -too- much aside from Subjunctive-ing it up until I'd unbroke everything (subjunctive defaults to every property being a page link until you explicitly add a type), I could see both of those -- and also doing unit magic for the time categories (you can specify conversions, so I could say the default unit is a minute, 1 hour is 60 minutes, and make sure all time intervals are specified in minutes or hours (and thus be able to do ask queries asking for games under an hour, etc). I'd -like- to also specify minimum/maximums for most numbers (rather than ranges). Mneme 17:22, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Well, I'd say go ahead and do what you have to do to get the InfoBox as the "source" for all the whiz-bang newness, then we can announce the need to update InfoBoxes, or even make fixes to them ourselves--it only takes a little while, in the grand scheme of things, to change a bit of text on every InfoBox (consider that I had to skim EVERY game out of development, manually, to make What Can I Play!). Fair enough. I think the best approach for changed-enough fields is to add the new field as an invisible property (stuff like (or not. We need an upgrade in Semantic for some of the 1.0 features to be here, it looks like we've got an older version installed, probably the most recent as of a year+ ago)) in the template and change infoboxes to set the new properties, then make the infobox display the newness. And time -is- a factor here, or at least my time. Mneme 18:46, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
