Talk:Pyramid Scheme

From Looney Pyramid Games Wiki

The story about why this page wasn't added before (when I went through the SLICK list last year) is that I wasn't sure if the game was playable without the diagrams. After reading the rules more closely and trying it out (albeit not while actually playing it out), it makes sense. Unlike Gemini, this game is playable without the start up diagram. I hope some people will now have the chance to enjoy this lost game; thematically, it's a predecessor of Nile.

Playtesting[edit source]

This is a really interesting game, with a lot of great strategic possibilities and things to consider. Every round that we played, we ended up taking radically different approaches.

To me, it seems like it would be best played with four players, but we haven't tried that yet.

The trouble with the plague rule was not only that it is a very powerful attack, but also that, with two-players, you end up going back and forth with retribution (remember that it you can only plague the "next" player, so that is different with more than two). We decided that it should play best with having it cost more the fewer players that you have, and we'll hopefully have a chance to tinker with that soon.

Rules of Gemini[edit source]

This is somewhat off-topic. But I found this page to the original rules of Gemini, hidden on the Archive, if somebody is interested in reconstructing it.
