Number of Players

Just thinking about ways to organize. I added some categories (2-player, 3-player, etc...) for the games (right now just for Icehouse and Gnostica.. that way to find 2 player games you can browse to 2-player category. Does anyone have any objections about this? Tuxhedoh 23:02, 10 May 2005 (GMT)

What should we do about Zendo or IceTowers? With Martian Chess, you need a special board for three players, so what does that mean? I don't want to cast my vote for or against your idea, yet. Not while I still don't understand it. Can you flesh it out a little better? -- Rootbeer 23:28, 10 May 2005 (GMT)
I hadn't put a whole lot of thought into it, but it's worth considering. I think that even if it needs special equipment that it should still fit the player categories. We could also add a special equipment category. Or a 2+ or 3+ etc...but that could get a little much.Tuxhedoh 01:43, 11 May 2005 (GMT)
I also think it might be a good idea to add similar links in the descriptions in the infobox. I've linked the mechanics to dexterity on CrackeD_Ice for example. I'd do more, but don't want to poop all in the playground, especially if others know better than i do. Tuxhedoh 02:14, 11 May 2005 (GMT)

Market-Driven (Treehouse stash and single-stash)

Query: I've come up with a couple of concepts that seem to me to be possible useful categories. Is there some process for validating them, or should I just create them and start rummaging through the games and adding my categories to them as appropriate? The first category is 'non-stacking' games, on the theory that these are games that could be played with piecenikked pieces; the second is effectively a marketing category - "GIANTs", Games In A Nifty Tube, being single-stash games whose rules can readably fit onto a 3x5 index card in 8-point courier, theory being that these games could increase sales not just of Treehouse stashes, but of monochrome stashes as well. -- FreeTrav 22:27, 12 Jul 2006 (GMT)

  • There is already a single stash category and one for Treehouse. Whether or not rules can fit on a card that fits a tube is, basically, a matter of layout, paper thickness, and the Looney's willingness to continually re-release pyramids as "stand alone" games. In short, this is (a) already done in part and (b) not likely to go anywhere as an actual marketing ploy. But, hey, what's one more category? Go make it; folks will use it if they want.... --David Artman 12:26, 13 July 2007 (EDT)
