Starting strategy tip: try to build your Stack with a top-most piece of the same color as the Outside Fence in an adjacent (not same) Row or Column, so you can move this Fence next to your Stack as an opening move where you can not be hurt by the Fence by the dice roll. And if you wish to 'not move' in Step 3, just step into the Fence's space (no damage from identical color). The next piece of the Stack down I usually look at the board's middle Column or Row Outside Fences along 'my' edges of the board.
